My son and I ate there during a very busy Sunday lunchtime. The food is DELICIOUS and the staff are very thoughtful (gave us take-out plate and cutlery - all sustainable materials - as we were in a rush). I'd have my lunch there every day if I could. Thanks!

Enthusiastic, friendly and passionate staff! All food made with love and
can't you taste it! The beautiful pots of fresh herbs on tables sums it up. The
quality and standard of the food is consistently at its very best. I would
happily eat and drink here every day ... Real food indeed 
 

“Keeping it simple but delicious”

 

This lovely little café keeps things simple, selling a small selection
of delicious, reasonably priced food. I had a rosti with smoked salmon which
was absolutely gorgeous. Nice atmosphere and friendly service with great food.

Absolutely love this place. Have enjoyed their food at street markets
over the last couple of years and love their mackerel rosti! So we are
delighted they now have a permanent spot on the barbican. So tasty, reasonable,
great location. What's not to love

 

At the real food kitchen we take advantage and pride in our west country roots by using only the finest local fruiterers, local butchers, right through to locally caught fish.

The Team – Phil and Katie

 

Phil is a classically trained chef who has a passion for fresh European food. He was a Lecturer for the faculty of business and leisure industries at City College Plymouth for 18 years, teaching health, fitness, healthy eating and sports nutrition.

 

Katie is an award winning PR consultant with almost 20 years’ experience in journalism and public relations. She shares Phil’s love of ‘REAL’ food and is passionate about sustainability initiatives.

 

All of the team has a love and affection for ‘REAL’ food. Food that is not processed or over complicated just cooked and prepared in a healthy and nutritional way

 

Fewer food miles are of uppermost importance, both for the environment and the local economy.
